Our recent visit to Maroua under the #FromGlobalToLocal project has been a transformative and inspiring experience. It marked an essential milestone in our journey as we witnessed firsthand the exceptional support and collaboration from a wide array of community leaders, stakeholders, and institutions. The power of local partnerships, engagement, and shared vision was truly evident as we continued to push forward with our mission of creating lasting change that directly impacts local communities.
The #FromGlobalToLocal project is a testament to the power of bridging international expertise with local insights. While the journey began in New York, with a focus on global strategies for sustainable development, it is in places like Maroua that the true impact of our efforts is felt. The collaboration with local institutions, officials, and community members ensures that we are not only sharing knowledge but also tailoring solutions to meet the unique needs of the region. This experience reminded us of the importance of aligning global initiatives with the realities faced by local communities, ensuring that every effort made is both relevant and impactful.
The support we received from key stakeholders in Maroua has been nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, the Lamido (traditional ruler) and the Mayor played an instrumental role in bringing the project to life. Their unwavering support and leadership have made it possible for us to engage the community on a deeper level. Their presence and advocacy have helped bridge the gap between traditional systems and modern development, ensuring that our work is both culturally sensitive and effective in creating long-term change.

The Regional Delegate MINPROF (Ministry of Social Affairs) and D.O (Divisional Officer) were equally crucial in guiding us through the necessary administrative and policy frameworks that govern the region. Their insights were invaluable in ensuring that our project aligns with national policies and the development goals of the region. Their support reinforced our commitment to sustainable practices that will continue to benefit the people of Maroua and beyond for years to come.

Additionally, our partnership with @ALDEPA (Association for Local Development and Environmental Protection) has been a cornerstone of our work in Maroua. Their extensive experience in community mobilization, advocacy, and sustainable development has made them a vital ally. With their support, we have been able to leverage local knowledge and networks to ensure that our interventions are not only impactful but also sustainable in the long term.

The heart of our mission is to empower the people of Maroua to become active participants in their own development. During our visit, we had the privilege of seeing the fruits of this collaborative effort. Through our collective work with local leaders, organizations, and community members, we are not just implementing a project; we are catalyzing a movement toward self-reliance, resilience, and sustainability.
The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by local stakeholders are testament to the fact that real, lasting change begins at the community level. Whether it’s the traditional leaders working to ensure cultural alignment or the government officials ensuring the project meets regulatory requirements, every single participant plays an essential role in the success of this project.
We were also able to engage with community members during our visit. Their receptiveness to the project and eagerness to contribute has been a powerful reminder of why grassroots engagement is crucial for social change. These interactions have deepened our understanding of the community’s needs and have provided us with the insights necessary to refine our strategies for greater impact. As we move forward, it is clear that we are all working toward a shared vision of a thriving, empowered, and self-sustaining Maroua.
Reflecting on the successful engagement and positive outcomes of our visit, we are filled with optimism for the future. This visit to Maroua has reaffirmed our belief that #FromGlobalToLocal is not just a project but a continuous journey of collaboration, innovation, and empowerment. The bonds we have formed with our local partners and the community are the foundation upon which we will build the next phase of our work. These relationships are crucial in ensuring that our impact will continue to grow and that the positive changes we are seeing today will flourish for generations to come.
As we look ahead, we are confident that the work we’ve started together in Maroua is only the beginning of a broader movement for positive change. Our partnerships with the Lamido, Mayor, Regional Delegate MINPROF, D.O, and @ALDEPA will continue to serve as a model for how local collaboration can lead to meaningful, lasting transformation. We are excited to see how these stakeholders will continue to champion the cause, create sustainable solutions, and inspire others to join the movement for a better future.
We are incredibly grateful for the commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work of all the stakeholders who have supported us in this journey. The success of our project is a direct result of the collective effort of everyone involved. From the local leaders to the community members, each person’s contribution is invaluable.
Looking forward, we remain committed to our mission of creating a brighter, more prosperous future for Maroua and the surrounding regions.
