Girls Advisory Board member

Foka Sherifatu Kinyuy is a young woman who has dedicated her life to helping adolescent girls and young women. Born and raised in Cameroon, she is a geographer and educator by profession. However, Foka’s true passion lies in promoting peace, equality, reproductive health and human rights for young girls and women.

Foka is a teen coach, a peace and equality ambassador for Comagend, and the Miss Yali Peace West Region of Cameroon. As a global school mentor, Foka has inspired many young girls to strive for their education and achieve their dreams. She believes that education is a key to self-empowerment, which is why she advocates for comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education for adolescent girls and young women.

Foka is also the Girls Advisory Board member for Comagend. In this capacity, she has helped to create programs that teach girls about the importance of their rights, and how to advocate for themselves. Foka’s work is centered on peacebuilding, advocacy, reproductive health, human rights, and SDG advocacy. She believes that every girl deserves a chance to thrive, and she is committed to making that a reality in her community and beyond. Overall, Foka is an inspiration to many young girls and women, and her work is creating a ripple of positive change across her region and the world. She serves as the Community Based Councilor for Darem, to stamp out GBV from her communities and to support survivors through counseling and PSS.
