Achem is a Gender in Humanitarian Action fellow and an SFC-certified professional; she is dedicated to promoting and coordinating programs that allocate active participation of young people especially adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), within sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS decision-making.
With over five years of extensive experience coordinating youth programs for Sexual Reproductive health, Achem has established herself as a mentor and leader in her field. She deeply understands young people’s challenges in accessing SRH services and actively works towards their empowerment. HER expertise lies in policy reformation processes, where she has contributed to 4 policy publications, including “The Cameroon #UPROOT youth-led scorecard on the HIV Response for Adolescence and Youths” and the “An Evidence-Based Strategy for Quality Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Service Provision for AGYW: Case Study Bamenda II Health District.”
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to sustainable development and youth emancipation, Achem was honoured with the prestigious Young Leaders Initiative Award in 2019. Currently serving as the Programs Coordinator at Common Action for Gender Development, she skilfully applies her knowledge and skills to serve AGYW in all their diversity. Through her work with COMAGEND, Achem’s experience, dedication, and familiarity with the context of HIV response in Cameroon, got her to serve as one of the consultants in the National HIV Response 5-year strategic plan evaluation in 2022 for the entire Northwest Region. Additionally, her expertise in monitoring and learning played a vital role in co-creating the 10-year strategy and monitoring framework for feminist funders, and she also provided consultancy services for Germany’s 2023 feminist foreign policy.
