At COMAGEND, we are thrilled to share the remarkable progress made by our Community Spokespersons (CSPs) under the Adjust for Me project. These incredible individuals are on the ground, working tirelessly to create lasting change in their communities. By addressing issues like toxic masculinity and gender-based violence, and enhancing access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services, our CSPs are playing a pivotal role in transforming their communities for the better.

One of the core goals of the Adjust for Me project is to challenge and change harmful social norms, particularly toxic masculinity and gender-based violence (GBV). Through the dedication and hard work of our CSPs, we are seeing a significant shift in how communities view and address these issues. Toxic masculinity, often a root cause of gender inequality, is being critically examined, and people are engaging in conversations that promote healthier, more respectful relationships.
The CSPs facilitate open dialogues, workshops, and community discussions, where people are encouraged to reflect on and redefine what it means to be a man or woman in their society. These conversations are vital in creating a culture of respect, equality, and shared responsibility, which are the building blocks of a more just and peaceful society.

In addition to tackling harmful social norms, our CSPs are working diligently to improve access to SRHR services in their communities. Mulang I, Nitob II, Ntarinkon, and Ntambag are now seeing a growing demand for SRHR services, thanks to the educational and awareness-raising efforts of the CSPs. These communities, once limited in their access to essential health services, are now better equipped to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
By addressing barriers to healthcare access, whether it’s through education, transportation, or cultural factors, the Adjust for Me project is ensuring that SRHR services are more accessible to everyone. This is a crucial step in ensuring that individuals, especially women and girls, have the opportunity to lead healthy, empowered lives.
As a result of the efforts of our CSPs, we are seeing a remarkable shift in community attitudes. There is a growing acceptance of SRHR services and a heightened awareness of the importance of gender equality and personal well-being. This change in attitude is crucial for the success of the project and for the long-term sustainability of the improvements we are striving to make in these communities.
The trust and support that the CSPs have built with local community members have been key in fostering this growing acceptance. People are beginning to understand that SRHR services are not just for women but for everyone—men, women, and youth alike. This collaborative effort is essential for creating lasting impact and systemic change within these communities.

None of this progress would have been possible without the generous funding and support from AmplifyChange. Their commitment to funding projects that challenge harmful social norms and improve access to essential health services is truly making a difference. We are immensely grateful for their partnership and belief in the work we are doing in these communities.
This funding opportunity has allowed us to implement the Adjust for Me project at scale, impacting hundreds of lives and creating a ripple effect of change across the region. Together with AmplifyChange, we are transforming communities and institutions for better access to healthcare and a more inclusive, equitable future.
The work is far from over, but the success we’ve seen so far is a testament to the power of community-led change. Our CSPs are continuing their work, inspiring others to join the movement and advocate for gender equality, healthier relationships, and better access to SRHR services. With ongoing support and dedication, we are confident that this project will lead to lasting improvements in the health and well-being of countless individuals.
